70 years of helping people to care for our ocean

uShaka Sea World reopens today – lockdown level 4

By: Ann Kunz

uShaka Sea World and Dangerous Creatures re-opened to the public today and welcomed their first guests just after 9am.

Today’s “Bringing the aquarium to you” video was taken this morning in the Open Ocean Exhibit. The Open Ocean Exhibit is one of the most popular exhibits and it is easy to see why. When you watch the enormous thorntail and ribbontail rays gliding leisurely past the pompano, kingfish, garrick, tuna and other inhabitants.

At feed time, it’s the rays who take centre stage as they compete for the diver’s attention. There are six different species of ray and 35 different species of bony fish who call the Open Ocean Exhibit home.

We look forward to seeing you in the aquarium soon.
