Unfortunately we cannot provide you with an update on Herbie’s location as we have been unable to pick up a reading since Thursday 11th April. It appears that the satellite tag is faulty, possibly after being damaged on a reef or perhaps the antennae is covered with algae or similar fouling. We know that the tag is underwater and has not washed up, as the tag is programmed to emit a specific signal (even if damaged) once it detects the tag has been dry for several hours.
We remain hopeful that the problem is temporary and that we will once again receive a signal from her. As soon as this happens we will let you know.
