ORI scientists, Ryan Daly and Bruce Mann co-authored a recent publication on Giant Trevally (Caranx ignobilis). These fish are charismatic top predatory reef fish that the team conducts research on throughout the Western Indian Ocean – from the Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve (PPMR), iSimangaliso Wetland Park (IWP), Mtentu, Seychelles and beyond. This study fills in important gaps in our understanding of this iconic species, namely, how their home range changes with ontogeny which has important implications for their conservation. The Save Our Seas Foundation has produced a wonderful infographic depicting the results of the study. Download the full research article for free.
