Earth hour encourages everyone to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour as a symbol of their commitment to the planet.

Switch off for Earth Hour tonight 20h30 – 21h30

Earth Hour encourages everyone to turn off non-essential lights this evening for 1 hour as a symbol of your commitment to the planet.

By reducing your “carbon footprint” (the amount of greenhouse gases released as you go about your daily activities), you can help slow climate change and ocean acidification.

Our Oceanographic Research Institute is currently researching the effect of ocean acidification on corals.

What can I do?

  • Take part in Earth Hour and encourage others to do so too.
  • Replace light bulbs and  appliances with more energy efficient models.
