Chelsea Preparatory has been visiting the uShaka Sea World Education Centre for the last 17 years.
This year, 140 Grade 3 Chelsea Preparatory school learners joined us for an onsite Ocean Connection Course.
As the group was quite large, the learners were split into two separate groups. The first group started with an interactive story covering ocean pollution before exploring and identifying some of the tiny animals that live on the shell of a mussel. They were then taken on a guided tour of the aquarium where they learned more about some of the larger marine animals.
After watching the dolphin show, they dissected a sardine and practiced identifying and labelling the parts of a fish on a cut out.
A visit to the uShaka Sea World education centre would not be complete without a story highlighting pollution and its effects on marine life.
