Antarctic fur seal, Neptune dies

By: Ann Kunz

Sadly, the subantarctic fur seal (Neptune) who was admitted to uShaka Sea World on the 4th May passed away yesterday.

A complete post-mortem was performed and we are still awaiting results from his histopathology in order to establish the cause of death.

Despite our best efforts and all the TLC he received, he succumbed to his condition.

As is always the case with stranded animals, sometimes they are far too compromised by the time they are found stranded to respond to treatment.
