Tea and cake for Tafta on Mandela Day

In celebration of Mandela Day on 18 July, uShaka Marine World staff devoted 67 minutes of their time to the elderly residents of South Beach Tafta (the Association for the Aged).

Armed with trays of cupcakes and savoury snacks, the staff spent time serving tea and cake.

SAAMBR CEO Judy Mann greeted residents and acknowledged Madiba's 95th birthday and the legacy of goodwill he has invited everyone to uphold.

uShaka mascots performed a dance routine, much to the delight of the folk at Tafta, who were also introduced to Lady, a green-winged macaw from uShaka.

Residents unable to join festivities in the dining room were visited in their rooms.

The lunch-hour concert ended with the delighted residents each receiving a handcrafted gift.
