A herpetologist is a zoologist who specialises in reptiles and amphibians

During National Science Week – 30 July to 6 August 2012 – the uShaka NPC Sea World Education Centre will be running special events to promote interest in marine science.

This year’s focus will be on the use of science and technology to manage marine resources, and the promotion of marine careers by making the correct subject choices at school.

uShaka Sea World staff exemplify a number of marine science careers involving research, animal husbandry and education. Click on the relevant links to learn more about what some of these careers entail and what the educational requirements are for a marine scientist, aquarist, cultures aquarist or herpetologist.
