New turtle rehabilitation centre opens

On 20 September 2012 uShaka Sea World proudly opened a custom-made outdoor rehabilitation centre specially designed to house young turtles recovering from trauma at sea. The centre has its own laboratory where weight assessments, minor medical observations and treatments can be carried out.

Stranded turtles flown back to the warm Indian Ocean

More than a dozen little loggerhead turtles arrived safely at Durban’s King Shaka Airport on 30 August 2012 from the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town.
